In September 2024, Wendy Sutherland will become the first Artist to embrace the full scale of Browns Gallery’s expansive new space in Inverness, with an uncompromising and glorious exhibition of new works entitled ‘Patterned Land’.

Based in Brora, roughly an hour north of Inverness, Wendy is situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. It is here that she creates her works, similarly rooted by a sense of place. Wendy describes herself as a Highland Landscape Artist, but her artworks speak of so much more. Through a deeper consideration of the human relationship to land, Wendy redefines the boundaries of what a Highland Landscape Artist can and should be.
